Auto- Accidents are an unfortunate part of driving cars. It can be a very stressful time getting your car and life back in order after. Chiropractic medicine can reduce and improve the healing process; helping to prevent chronic issues and future injury caused by the accident. I have over four years of experience treating auto accident injuries and am happy to now serve the Central Oregon and Bend community.  Here is some information that is important to know if you get into a car accident.

Auto-Accident Info

Do I need a referral?

Quick Answer: No, you do not need a referral for treatment.

Chiropractors do not need a referral to treat patients following an auto-accident. You may choose to see your primary care physician or go to urgent care, but we do not need to be referred to.

Should I get treatment?

Quick Answer: If you feel different following a car accident than, Yes!

Note: Symptoms can show up a few days following your motor vehicle accident.

Car accidents don't necessarily need to be a high-speed collision to cause injury; sometimes it can be small crashes that cause injury.  Auto accidents mainly cause soft-tissue injuries and if left untreated can cause problems in the future. Chiropractic therapies work well to help heal and prevent those problems.

Will my car insurance cover my medical bills?

Quick Answer: Yes, your auto-insurance will pay medical bills, including passengers and at fault drivers.

In Oregon, we have Personal Injury Protection (PIP) attached to our car insurance policy.  It allows up to $15,000 in treatment for up to one year for anyone in the accident. Most people don't use the whole amount, but it is helpful to know that you have it.

Will my auto-insurance rates increase if I use it for Chiropractic?

Quick Answer: No, your insurance rates should not raise if you choose to use your PIP.

Rates usually increase for the driver that caused the auto accident regardless of healthcare needed.

PIP Overview

  • $15,000.00 for reasonable and necessary crash-related medical treatment incurred up to two years from the date of your car accident.
